Here is a list of eschatological terms:
Amillenialism - This word means "no millennium." The word "a" in Latin is a negative that means "no" and the term "millennial" refers to a thousand year period. So the phrase "Amillenialism" literally means "no millennium." It is a word that refers to the entire church age from the resurrection of Christ until his return.
Premillennialism - This word has the prefix "pre" that means "before" and the word "Millennialism" that refers to a thousand year period. So the phrase "Premillennialism" refers to a time before the thousand years. Most Premillennialist believe Christ will return to this earth to set up an earthly Kingdom that will last a thousand years.
Post Millennialism - This word has the suffix "post" that means "after" and the word "Millennialism" that refers to a thousand year period. So the phrase "Postmillennialism" refers to a time after the thousand years. Most Postmillennialist believe that there will be a golden age where the Gospel Message will be preach and the world will become Christian. Then Jesus will return to earth.
Preterism - This word comes from the Latin word "praeter" which means "before." Full Preterists believe that the events of Matthew 24, Luke 21, and the book of Revelation have all occurred before 70AD with the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem.
Futurism - This word refers to a future event or time period. Futurists believe that the events of Matthew 24, Luke 21, and book of Revelation haven't occurred yet and that these will all be fulfilled in the future.
Historicism - This word has the same etymological root as the word "history." Historicists believe that the book of Revelation is an Historical book that is fulfilled from the start of the early church two thousand years ago until the return of Christ.
Covenant Theology - The word "Covenant" means "agreement" and signifies an agreement between God and man. It is the belief that God works throughout history through Covenants or agreements. *
Dispensationalism - Is the belief that God works in different dispensations. It is the belief that in the Old Testament God dealt with the nation of Israel and that in the New Testament he dealt with the Church. They also believe that in a future event God will deal once again with the nation of Israel.
Replacement Theology - Is the belief that God has done away with the nation of Israel and replaced it with the church.
Extra Notes:
The general Eschatological view of the Reformed Church and the Puritans is that of a Historical position.
The Confessional (Second London Baptist Confession, Savoy Declaration and Westminster Confession of Faith) position is that of Covenant Theology.
* There is a lot more to Covenant Theology (creation, the fall, works, grace, redemption and consummation).
