Pagan Days And Months

Introduction

To the surprise of many the days of the week and months of the year that we use are pagan! Here is a list of them and their origins.

Days

1) Monday – Moon-Day. 2) Tuesday – Tyr Day. 3) Wednesday – Woden Day. 4) Thursday – Thor’s Day. 5) Friday – Frigga Day. 6) Saturday – Saturn Day. 7) Sunday – Sun-Day.

Months

1) January – Janus. 2) Febuary – Februus. 3) March – Mars. 4) April – Apru. 5) May – Maia. 6) June – Juno. 7) July – Julius Caesar. 8) August – Augustus Caesar. 9) September – Seven. 10) October – Eight. 11) November – Ninth. 12) December – Tenth.

Conclusion

As we can see, the days of the week and the majority of the months of the year are based on the names of pagan deities.
