Introduction
Every Christian needs to develop a good morning routine. This should consist of (at the very least), prayer, Bible readings and Psalm singing.
Prayer
We should pray to our heavenly Father in the name of Jesus (Matthew 6:9 & John 14:13). Asking for forgiveness of our sins (Matthew 6:12). As we ask our heavenly Father to provide us with our needs (Matthew 6:11) we should also thank God for all and everything that he has given us (Colossians 4:2)
Bible Reading
I find that following a daily reading plan to be spiritually beneficial.
I am currently going through a two-year Bible reading plan that involves reading a chapter (or two) of the Old Testament in the Morning and a chapter of the New Testament in the Evening. This daily reading plan can be located in the back of the Authorised Version of the Bible produced by the TBS.
Psalm Singing
I aim to sing a Psalm on the morning after my prayers and Bible readings. What's good about the 1650 Metric Psalms is that because it is in 'Metric' form, it can be sang in Accapella (without the aid of musical instruments) which means that you can sing it anywhere at anytime.
Extra (Study Aid)
A Bible Commentary is a good resource to add to your daily Bible reading plan. It helps explain and expound upon the text of Scripture that you are reading.
If you are new to Bible Commentaries, then I recommend using Matthew Henry's Bible Commentary that can be found over on Studylight (please find a link to this over on the 'Resource' section of this website.)
